Daily Writing Reminder #7: Write a Short Mystery

Welcome back to the Daily Writing Reminder — your quick nudge to keep the words flowing. Today is the seventh reminder!

Show up for your writing today, even if it’s just a small scene. The habit you build now becomes the foundation for every story you’ll tell later.

Today’s Nudge

A mysterious and eerie up close shot of a dim-lit lamp post outside.
Write a short mystery — something that hints at a question but doesn’t answer it completely.

It could be a missing object, a strange letter, or an unexplained noise in the night. Let the reader’s curiosity do part of the work.

📌 Focus on atmosphere — use setting, lighting, and sensory details to make the mystery feel alive.

Set a Reminder

Write today, even if it’s just a few intriguing lines. A fragment of a scene can spark a whole story later.

📌 If you get stuck, start with one strange image — a door ajar, a shadow that moves, or an item where it shouldn’t be.
